fear – 21 century plague

There have been occasions when I keep questioning God, "Do these visions really have to be so graphic?"! (if you've read my other posts, you will quickly realise this does seem to be the running theme currently). I Interpreted His silence as a profound 'yes'... We clearly need this type of 'shock therapy' in today's world - simply to bring home the seriousness of these matter(s).

The following happened ~14 December 2025. As I was speaking with someone, I saw only their whole bloodstream - but instead of the normal red or bluish colour running through their veins, the whole body was full of contaminated black blood!

These were the exact words I heard the Holy Spirit utter to me when I saw their complete cardiovascular system, which had turned black: "Fear is the 21'st century plague".

I saw that person's whole bloodstream filled with fear!

I do realise some of the stuff in this post might be tough to take... And don't think for one minute that I am spared from all this! I was and still am in the very same boat - trying to come to terms with the fact I have sided with fear in my life! Once I realised how easily I had fallen for the enemy's deceptions, I felt defeated! And that is exactly why I feel the need to write about it - so his schemes can be made a public knowledge! We need to see the deception before we can avoid falling for it...

God started revealing to me the way we speak. He highlighted ways we express fear UNKNOWINGLY! We have agreed with the spirit of fear for so long, it has become part of the 'death' that is flowing through our veins! The blood - life itself has been infiltrated with FEAR!!!

HELP CAME
A very welcome additional help (to seeing the black blood) came in a way of a special grace/gift that accompanied it: for a couple of weeks afterwards, I saw the root of fear in things people said. Some things we would say in our every day life, not even realising the root of it...! As soon as they would utter something which would be rooted in fear, something would feel uneasy inside me...and Jesus would 'pop up' in my mind's eye!
SO OFTEN He just smiled knowingly at a person as to say 'I really want to show you how you are agreeing with spirit of fear when you speak like this'. I saw through His eyes how often fear disguises itself as wisdom! This happened a number of times with various people and everyday expressions, and each time it followed by a wonderful joyful freedom that was deposited into my spirit through it.... Almost like saying: "AAAAAH, I SEEEE NOW!!!" (like after someone has JUST figured out a huge puzzle or invented a really useful thing!)

You are asking for solid proof and examples now, aren't you!? How can you see if you are acting in the sprit of fear?
Well, I am sorry to say, because I was so awestruck by the whole experience itself, I actually forgot to write down the bits which seemed normal at a time! HOWEVER, I do feel like there might be a very good reason for it: we don't live cookie-cutter lives, every occasion is different, so what is rooted in fear for me, might not be the same for you!
So, instead I will give you an example from the Bible - in the context of the story of Peter walking on the water:

Shortly before dawn, Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.
But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
“Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
“Come,” he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.
But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”.”
- Matthew 14:25-30 (NIV)

Why this story?
Because we have a number of various people here: Peter and the rest of them. The rest of them ...they are the ones who just might represent some of us today, the ones who DID NOT choose to walk on the water.

When Peter stepped out of that boat and walked on the water, have you thought why didn't others follow suit? Was it because of fear? Did that fear disguise as wisdom at a time? Probably! I can just imagine the 'wise ones' (read "Fearful ones" - please note wise doesn't always equal fearful!) saying to him: "Are you mad!!! You are going to sink" and: "Have you completely lost it!!!?" Or "Be careful!!" - that one doesn't actually sound so bad when you look at it, right? But hang on a minute...did he follow Peter onto the water? We certainly don't read any such accounts in the bible. So Peter was actually the only one who was brave enough to act on Jesus' word!

This made me realise, have I been that 'wise one' stopping someone in my life stepping 'on the water'!? Have I been just a bystander? Probably...many times most likely!!!
Are we being the other disciples in the boat just watching?
Are we the ones who are advising him NOT to do it?

Or are we the believers who would say to the Lord "ME TOO!!!" - "If he can do it, SO CAN I!!!"
Sometimes what we think is wisdom, can actually masquerade as fear!

Doubt is avoidable - instead of looking at each other and and asking each other their opinions, all the guys in the boat could have simply looked at only Jesus and stepped on the water. They could have intentionally shut off all the voices around them... And Peter knew that principle - he was not disrespectful or arrogant when he chose to say 'no' to the bystanders ie. "wise counsel" he realised there was a counsel which stands above the wise ones...WORD OF GOD!

"Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life."
- Proverbs 4:23 (NLT)

WAY FORWARD
It's hard to have that kind of faith in the midst of today's culture of information overload, where we are used to torrents of articles every day...
As I am writing this, I am reminded a stringent habit of Smith Wigglesworth, who didn't even allow a newspaper in his house! When I first read that, I thought to myself: "Surely, that's a bit ott!?"
Smith Wigglesworth also knew the principle Peter acted on: more outside noise means more doubt in things we can't see, so instead, he chose to spend that time on feeding and strengthening his spirit. Instead of news of this natural world, he chose to increase his intake of the Word of God!

Having seen what gradual increase of info and news has done to my own walk of faith over the years, I can now see why it was so important for him to guard his heart with everything he had! Less news from outside to him meant less fear, giving less power to the 'nay-sayers' in his life. Smith understood the principal of faith which comes from continuous hearing:

"So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God"
- Romans 10:17 (NKJV)

Continuous Process: The Greek implication is not a single instance, but an ongoing, regular habit of hearing and receiving the message.

END NOTE
You will notice that anything that doesn't produce peace in your life or set you free, is rooted in fear. Agreeing/siding with fear is agreeing with the enemy and giving him the authority to operate in our lives! There is a very good reason why there are hundreds of scriptures in the Bible stating "Fear not!"
What is God saying to you today?
What area is He drawing your attention to?
Where have you agreed with fear?
With slight changes to our daily priorities, we can gradually swap the natural news with torrents of GOOD NEWS!!!
